The New Years Race 2003/2004

My track at home is finally ready and it was time for the first real race. It was new years eve 2003 and me, Mats and Niclas had gather together.

We raced with model Nascars.

It was time to fire up the grille. Mats soaked the coal with ignition liquid and then started it with a gas burner (handy guy isn't he? ;-). Soon the grille stood in flames...

After a while the cold (-10 degress Celsius) made the flames into a nice glow.

Niclas had already prepared the meat at his home (handy guy, isn't he? ;-) Actually he had also made the potato at home too!

The meat went on the grille and soon after we had a really nice dinner!

The time between the dinner and the midnight countdown we spent slotracing. Most of the time we stayed in the slot but it got harder and harder the more the evening progressed. Could that be the liquids we took? Hmmm....

The clock is just minutes before midnight and we have prepared our fireworks box. Really nice these boxes. One fuse and then it goes for about 3 minutes all by itself! Below you can see how it looks inside:
