1:24 scale racing at Stockholm Slotcar ClubIn the autum of 2001 I joined a slot car club called Stockholm Slotcar Club (SSC). There we race on a wood track made by Hasse Nilsson, one of the gurus in track building. The track is situated in Barkarby 25 km north west of Stockholm City. The little more than 30 members of the club own it and operate it fully together as a private club and share all cost. SSC Saloon Cup The Saloon Cup is the biggest class we have at the club, more than half of the members are normally there every race so we are often about 18 racers. We use 4-door saloon bodies on production Chassis like the Champion Turboflex. Earlier we could only use D-can motors, but nowadays we can also use C-can motors. Lap times are now under 4 seconds on the 40 meter long track. Below are some pictures of my saloon cars. |

![]() Here is a picture of my first Champion chassi with super 16D motor. It's built by Mats Hummel. I couldn't solder at the time. But I bought me an Ungar soldering iron some weeks after. |
![]() This is my first race body. I bought it painted. As you can see it has lived a tough life. At the best I won the B-final with it. |

![]() Honda Accord. The stars are self adessive bookmarks. They lifted somewhat during spraying at some places. Afterwards getting them off was really tricky since they stuck in the color. The roof masking was also a little bad. But you learn from trying they say. Note the front wheel masking. This body was my third race body. Second place as best in the final. |

![]() The Parma Flexi-2 chassi is a strange beast. No one can seem to get them to go well on our track. |

![]() After more than six months of racing the old one is battered it hardly holds together. The new "Lone Star" body is painted by Hans Kihlén. He went to a Steak House called "Texas Lone Star" when he got the idea for the paint! |
