How to make wheel inserts

You need to somehow center the wheels. Either you super glue them on the axles that comes with many kits or you have to drill a hole in them and glue an axle in. After that you put them up on a Dremel tool (or a drill machine).

I prefer to use a knife at an angle as like the cutting tool in a lathe but sanding paper or a file will do also. Just take it easy, the plastic heats up and starts to melt so you need to let it cool down from time to time. Take off some material, test fit it into the aluminium wheel and when it fits your done! If you happen to take out little to much. Take a thin styrene strip and glue it one lap or more around the wheel. Let it dry and have a new go!

Here the first two inserts are done and two remains. Next step is to paint them. These where to be white which is a little unusual but the original car these where for had that.

And here they are completly ready with hand painted nuts. Also you can see some black ones I have done. You need to paint the aluminium wheel on the inside the same color also, since the inserts normally should be located a little bit in from the outer edge as you can see on the below pictures.

The three first pictures are the original cars wheel, and the second two last ones my model wheel.
