My home track has 3 lanes and therefor it has 3 nascars to combat on it with.

These cars started thier life in the beginning of the 90's when Kenneth Signal
built them for racing in some IMCA races. He was willing to sell the bodies
and an inline chassi they had been sitting on earlier to me for a reasonable
price. A good way to start I thought. They are also 1/25 scale which makes them
a little smaller than the 1/24 cars and I thought that would be good on my rather
short, narrow and twisty hometrack if one compares to the club track we normally
run on.

The Ford didn't have any continucy decals in the front so I put them from another
kit on and also put on some other decals so it would look more Nascarish. Compare
with the picture above how it looked before.

The IMCA rules these cars where built for didn't prompt for full interior so
all I got with the cars was roll cages and they had seen thier best days.

I put some time in to fix them, repaired the broken pieces and repainted them.
I also painted driver figures.

On the left picture you can see the driver figure mounted on top of the body
holder bracket. On the right picture you can see how I solved the missing interior.
It isn't correct compared to a real Nascar I know but it was the quickest way
to do something so one couldn't see the chassis through the window..

Speaking of the chassi. I put 3 brand new Schöler chassis under the cars
so they all have the same chassi. Put up the same way. All to make them as equal
fast as possible. The wheel inserts was missing. These are from Patto in Australia.
They are made of thin white Lexan that I painted black.

First time out on the track. The Sakatsu foam rubber wheels I had put on the
rear wheels didn't work good for traction on my track. I found out that the
best grip I got was with Wiesel tires. With them on, lap times are just a bit
over five seconds on the track.

Coming down the long sweeping curve.

The front wheels came with the bodies. They where so dry after 10 years storage.
I actually soaked them in oil and that made them softer and bigger in diameter
and after that I trued them round again.

Going up the donut.

Not the best model cars in the world finish wise, but still okey. They do thier
job very good on my track with nice close racing - so I'm pleased!
