I started to model the snow machine when I was living in the alps in 1994. As reference I had some pictures that I took of the real thing. The some what strange crane has a function: When it is real steep they mount a cable at the top of the mountain and the machine winches itself up and down. The crane swirvles so it always points in the direction to the top. They use this machine especially at a speed ski slope in Les Arcs 2000. The slope is really steep and the world records is above 230 km/h downhill there. I never got to finish the scene since a paragliding accident came in between. I finished it first in 1997 when the windows version of Imagine came out. The driver comes originally from Tim Wilson. Clothes and hair is done by me. THe background is a freeware photo. Thanks to Mike Bayona in the USA For tips on how to make good looking snow.
