3D pictures and anims

Here you'll find 3D computer generated pictures and anims done by me. The technology is the same they used to render the dinosours in Jurassic Park although they where on a larger scale, not only the size of the dinosours compared to my stuff, but even more ecomical resources and time. And finally they hade tons of more CPU power than I had. Just one picture in my case took in several cases more than one day to render. Not acceptable if you are making a film and need 24 frames per second, the production time would have been a millenium or two.

If you think rendering time took long, staging, lighting the scene, deciding camera angles, making new objects from scratch and converting ready made objects took about a week or more per picture.

Most of the material is made when I lived for 6 months in the french alps in 1994. I brought my Amiga A3000 computer with me and used it on days with bad weather when paragliding or skiing wasn't possible. The program I used is called Imagine, it's a nice program in the budget region price wise but mid range function wise. Above you can see a screenshot from it. More info on http://www.coolfun.com.

Anims

Flying logos are a popular theme to render. This an experiment that I made. The logo spins and becomes quite dizzy after a while.

It's dark in space. One space ship hunts another and fires at it. The anim is made with the program Lightwave (same they used for the Babylon 5 TV-series). The spaceships are made with Imagine. See the still images and you'll find them but with another surface.

In work

Here are some pictures from the workbench and some experiments with different techniques.
